A Word from the Pastor
I heard the story of a man who was
late for a meeting and quickly
jumped into the back seat of a taxi
exclaiming, "I'm in a hurry! Drive
as fast as you can!" A few minutes
later he glanced out the window
and inquired of the driver, "Where
are you going?" The taxi driver
replied, "I don't know. I'm just
driving as fast as I can!"
At times we may feel like that taxi
driver as the demands of life tug at
us from all sides and rush us from
one corner to the next, causing us
to feel that life is out of control
and we have no direction at all. At
Douglasville First Church we
believe it does not have to be that
way. Jesus declared, "I am the
way, and the truth, and the life." In
Christ we find our sense of
direction, of belonging, of purpose.
