Who are the Nazarenes?
The International Church of the Nazarene was founded in
1908 as a Protestant, Christian, Evangelical, Wesleyan,
community of faith with established churches in 151 world
areas. Douglasville First Church of the Nazarene opened
its doors in April 1976.
We believe in God as the one, true God, revealing himself as Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Bible is God's inspired infallible Word and the final
authority for humankind.
We believe that man is born in sin, and is given free will, and that the finally
impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.
We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human
race; that whoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified
and regenerated, and saved from the dominion of sin.
We believe that God's further work of grace in the believer leads to complete
consecration and the cleansing of the sinful nature through the infilling with
the Holy Spirit.
We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final
judgement will take place.
We recognize the sacraments of baptism and The Lord's Supper.
