| A Word from our Pastor As I prayed about sermon preparation for February, knowing of course that the month is invariably linked to Valentines Day and "love," I thought about how much God loves us and the many demonstrations of His love in and through His only Son, Jesus Christ. What came to mind during my prayer time was a handful of those little candy conversation hearts that are so popular around Valentines, and I began to imagine what a bowl of those little hearts from God might say. That's when I was overwhelmingly consumed with the idea that God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the maker of all things, the ruler of the universe, chooses to talk to me and listen to me. The Holy God Almighty desires to engage me in conversation with Himself. WOW! Too often we look at prayer as a Christian obligation and then make some kind of feeble effort to squeeze prayer into our very busy daily life. What can we learn from God's Word about the way He engages us in the daily of our lives when we allow Him to do so? I look forward to our time together! |
